Privacy policy

Effective October 31, 2026.

In short: the county lookup runs in your browser. Your location, the ZIP codes, cities and coordinates you type, and your results are never sent to us or stored. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell data.

What we do not collect

• Your device location. When you press Use my current location, your browser asks your permission and gives the position to the page only. The page compares it with county-line files and shows the result.
• What you type into the lookup (ZIP codes, cities, coordinates).
• Your lookup results.

What we do collect

• Server logs. Like every website, our hosting servers record technical request data (IP address, page requested, browser type, time) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. These logs do not contain your location or searches.
• Contact form. If you write to us, we keep your name, email address and message to reply, and delete them within 24 months. To limit spam, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for one hour.

Cookies

We do not set cookies for visitors. WordPress sets cookies only for site administrators who log in.

Third parties

Pages, fonts and data files are served from our own host (DigitalOcean, New York, through Cloudways). We do not load third-party scripts, fonts, ads or analytics. If that ever changes, we will update this page first.

Your rights

You can ask us to access or delete any message you sent us, through the contact page (choose "Privacy request"). Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have further rights under local law; we honour them for the data we hold.

Children

The site is for a general audience and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We will post any change here with a new effective date.
